Right now, surprisingly robust economic growth of 4.9% is currently expected for Q3. And inflation remains contained below 4%, less than half where it was a year ago. This is great news, right? The economy has rebounded, the Fed is taming inflation, and we’ve dodged the risk of a recession. Not really, warns Matthew Piepenburg of Matterhorn Asset Management, AG (proprietor of Goldswitzerland.com). In fact, this is a dangerously WRONG narrative that too many are swallowing right now. To find out why, we’ll hear it straight from the man himself.

Matthew Piepenburg began his finance career as a transactional attorney before launching his first hedge fund during the NASDAQ bubble of 1999-2001. Thereafter, he began investing his own and other HNW family funds into alternative investment vehicles while operating as a General Counsel, CIO and later Managing Director of a single and multi-family office. Matthew worked closely as well with Morgan Stanley’s hedge fund platform in building a multi-strat/multi-manager fund to better manage risk in a market backdrop of extreme central bank intervention/support. The conviction that precious metals provides the best protection against potential systemic risk led Matt to join Matterhorn Asset Management. Adam Taggart is the Founder of Wealthion. He is also Co-Founder and former President of Peak Prosperity. Adam is an experienced Silicon Valley internet executive and Stanford MBA. Prior to partnering with Chris Martenson (Adam was General Manager of our earlier site, ChrisMartenson.com), he was a Vice President at Yahoo!, a company he served for nine years. Before that, he did the ‘startup thing’ (mySimon.com, sold to CNET in 2001). As a fresh-faced graduate from Brown University in the early 1990s, Adam got a first-hand look at all that was broken with Wall Street as an investment banking analyst for Merrill Lynch. Most importantly, he’s a devoted husband and dad.
