Col. Doug Macgregor: Patriot Missile Production Triples

Daniel Davis / Deep Dive, Released on 11/18/25

The discussion highlights how Boeing has suddenly announced—four years into the Ukraine war—that it will triple production of Patriot missile interceptors. Colonel Doug Macgregor argues this move is less about battlefield necessity and more about funneling money to the U.S. defense industry, since Patriot systems are older technology and generally ineffective against Russia’s overwhelming missile capabilities. He explains that Western leaders initially assumed Russia was weak and would collapse under sanctions, but those assumptions proved false. Meanwhile, Russia has continuously improved its own weapons systems. Even a major increase in Patriot output would likely make little difference for Ukraine, whose air defenses, logistics, and strongpoints have largely collapsed. Macgregor states that Russia continues to advance methodically, minimizing casualties, while Ukraine expends dwindling resources attacking stronger Russian positions. He also argues Western governments cannot admit Ukraine is losing because their political legitimacy depends on portraying Russia as an existential threat. If they acknowledged reality, their own populations—already angry over immigration, economic hardship, and misallocated public funds—would turn on them. Macgregor claims upcoming political upheavals in Europe will replace the current globalist leadership with more nationalist governments focused on internal problems rather than confrontation with Russia. Lastly, he dismisses Western media claims that Russia is sabotaging European infrastructure, arguing many of these incidents are staged or misattributed, and noting that Ukraine’s corruption ensures much Western aid is stolen rather than used on the battlefield.
