Lior and John,
Thanks for your insight.
I just spent a half hour looking at the new case numbers for Covid-19. Trump is about to lose this election mostly because people think he’s failed miserably when it comes to Covid. Never mind that Biden called him xenophobic for shutting down travel from China and that it took over two months for Biden to see the wisdom in Trumps China Lockdown.
The fake news has done a wonderful job of smearing Trump. Trump has missed a good opportunity to paint a prettier picture of himself for these covid blaming voters and fake news outlets.
Simple math can make Trump look a whole lot better. If you take these 6 countries and divide each countries population into that of the U.S. population to see how many times bigger the United States is, you’ll be presented with the number you need to multiply times the average 45,000 new cases a day in the U.S. to determine how bad it could be in the U.S if we matched the new case rates in these countries. The fact is that Belgium, Netherlands, Argentina, France, Spain and the UK all have much higher new cases per capita than the United States. Argentina, France, Spain, and the UK average about 6 times the number of new cases per day than the United States (based on per capita).. Belgium and the Netherlands are much worse.
Either Trump is doing good or the virus has mutated in other places, making it much more contagious. Both those that think this is a nothing burger and those that are deathly afraid of covid should consider these facts.
One more point …on October 12, 2020, the combined populations of Spain, France, UK, Argentina, Belgium and the Netherlands had 7 times more deaths than the U.S on the same day. Population of the U.S. about 50 million more people too. Trump needs to tell this story. He could be doing a whole lot worse.
