Our interview on RLA Radio this week features Alasdair Macleod, head of research at Goldmoney. Your host, Dennis Tubbergen discusses with Macleod the state of the US economy and the future of the dollar. Macleod argued that the real economy in the US is contracting when government spending is taken into account. He also suggested that inflation will continue until the US government gets its fiscal house in order. Macleod further predicted that the Chinese yuan will eventually displace the dollar as an international trade currency, which could lead to the end of the dollar as we know it. He also warned that the last people to understand what’s happening to their currency are usually the domestic users, urging them to think seriously about the situation.
