Jim Bianco: Diving into DeFi and crypto as investors brace for a volatile 2022

Yahoo Finance, Released on 1/13/22

Decentralized finance (DeFi) development exploded in 2021, along with crypto prices and Ethereum adoption. But volatility is already surging in 2022 as investors grapple with a Federal Reserve removing unprecedented stimulus. Meanwhile, regulators are busy cracking down on fraud, and Wall Street is building its crypto infrastructure to support the institutionalization of the fledgling crypto asset class. Noted DeFi expert and Fed-watcher Jim Bianco, president of Bianco Research, joins Yahoo Finance’s Jared Blikre to break down what promises to be a challenging — but potentially rewarding — year for investors.

Jim Bianco is President and Macro Strategist at Bianco Research, L.L.C. Since 1990 Jim’s commentaries have offered a unique perspective on the global economy and financial markets. Unencumbered by the biases of traditional Wall Street research, Jim has built a decades long reputation for objective, incisive commentary that challenges consensus thinking.
