Doug Casey’s Take, Released on 5/29/24
In this episode, Doug shares some details from leftist intelligentsia magazines. They give a sense of what the left really thinks of the rest of us. Namely, that they’re very happy to sacrifice everything you care about “for the greater good”. One concept jumped out: The cold war era idea of “Sacrifice Zones”. Sacrifice zones are areas designated low value by the elite. The idea is that by sacrificing certain areas, a country can concentrate its limited defensive resources on protecting its most vital areas, such as major population centers, key industrial regions, and, of course, political/military command posts. Today, much of the west looks like a sacrifice zone.

Doug Casey is an American-born libertarian economist and advocate of the free market. He is a bestselling financial author, international investor, entrepreneur, and the founder and chairman of Casey Research, a provider of subscription financial analysis about specific market verticals including natural resources/metals/mining, energy, commodities, and technology. Since 1979 he has written or co-written the monthly metals-and-mining-focused investment newsletter The International Speculator. He has authored four books, including Crisis Investing, the top-selling investing book of all time, Totally Incorrect, and Right on the Money. His latest novel is Assassin. He also published a video podcast called Doug Casey’s Take.
Once again Doug shows his mind is turning to mush. This time he plays the politically correct card stating, “well, i’m all for gays, I have no problem with them, in fact, many of my friends are gay.” Really. You actually feel the need to tell the public that you have a bunch of unbalanced friends, huh Doug? Twenty years ago his answer would have been if people want to be gay, that’s their right. I don’t particular want them as friends but they don’t violate anybody’s right by being gay.
That at least would have been an honest answer. Dougie is sounding more like a liberal the old he gets. Too bad.
